The Tewksbury Education Foundation Turns 25!
The Tewksbury Education Foundation is turning 25 and we would like to invite you to share in our annual township Barn Dance this year on May 2nd. Hamilton Farm Golf Club will provide a stunning backdrop as we celebrate this momentous milestone and highlight “25 Faces” of the Tewksbury Education Foundation.
In the months to come, and again at the event, we will pay homage to 25 “Faces” – teachers, administrators, former students, community members, sponsors and program providers who have contributed to the long-term success of the TEF. Of course, we could not celebrate this momentous occasion had it not been for the foresight and philanthropic spirit of one of our founding members, and 1st Honoree, Jean Frankel.
For those of you who do not know Jean, she and her husband Gregg, took the path that many have traveled before choosing to call Tewksbury “home.” Initially venturing to Hunterdon County as weekenders seeking a reprieve from the city they eventually saw that it was, in fact, much more than they imagined. Like many of those reading this newsletter, they agreed it would be an idyllic place to raise their family and as a mother of two young children twenty-five years ago, Jean saw the need for an education foundation to help bridge the gap between the needs of our schools and the limited state funding available for our district. As with all great ideas, the seed was planted, and the TEF was born.
The goal was, and still is, quite simple: to generate and distribute funds to establish, enhance and expand educational opportunities for students in Tewksbury Township school district. Since 1996, the TEF has contributed over $1.6 million to Tewksbury schools in support of programs that have provided, and will continue to provide, a meaningful, long-term impact on the entire school community. Our dedicated administrators, tireless volunteers and generous donors have attributed to the Foundation’s incredible success.
As with many great ideas, often there is a by-product that exceeds expectations. An unintended consequence of the TEF’s fundraising efforts began 25 years ago…on the corner of Lamington Road and County Road 517, at the Dewey Farm. It was there that the first Barn Dance was held. Since 1996 the Barn Dance has become synonymous with the TEF.
This is will be an amazing evening open to our entire community as we celebrate the TEF’s success and the people who have helped it thrive. We will proudly flaunt our Hunterdon Hospitality by welcoming alumni, grandparents, friends and neighbors to join us once again!
Guests are invited to raise their glasses while we raise “FUN”ds to support curriculum-enriching programs and mini grants in Tewksbury public schools. Opportunities to support our fundraising efforts will include a live auction, tricky tray and wine pull. The Tewksbury Education Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
Your ticket(s) can be purchased HERE.
We look forward to celebrating 25 years with you all!
